The Prayer Chain
If you would like emergency prayers for yourself or a loved one, please contact the Church Office.
The St. Mary’s Prayer Chain ensures that, in the event of you suffering a personal or family crisis, a large number of church members can offer their private prayers on your behalf.
Prayer Ministry at St. Mary’s
Personal prayer is available with the laying on of hands at every 9.30 service of Parish Communion. A trained team will be pleased to pray in confidence for you or your loved one, in a quiet side-chapel (after the receiving of Holy Communion).
In addition, you are invited at any time to light a candle in Church as an acted prayer, and/or to hang a “prayer fish” on the St. Mary’s prayer net, which is adjacent to the candle-stand in our prayer area. The requests on the prayer fish are offered at the altar in the 9.30am Parish Communion on Sundays, and also prayed through by members of a weekly intercessions group that meets for this purpose.
Intercessions for the sick
For names to be added to our ongoing prayers for those who are sick, and also to remember the departed within the intercessions at the Sunday and daily services of Holy Communion, please kindly speak to one of the Clergy who will be delighted to include them.
